When should the mother of the bride remove her hat

At what point at the wedding reception should mother of the bride remove her hat?

I've heard none of the other guests remove their hats until the mob does. Many thanks.Crazy

Dear Gt,

I hope that one day everyone removes her hat when indoors, except when it is dictated by the church. Men must, so it just seems fair. But, for now, she can take it off anytime. It really is an unstated rule for the guests to follow the lead of the mother of the bride, not a 'real' rule. But, some take it very seriously.

Hats are a very nice accessory though.

Best wishes,
