     Who Pays for What?

The bride's family is from Israel. The groom's family is from the US. The wedding will be in Israel. What does the groom's side pay for at the wedding? (There will be no "rehearsal dinner.") Would it be customary for them(the groom's family) to host a dinner for all out of town guests or am I supposed to host all the out of town guests for a dinner in addition to the wedding?

Dear Who Pays?

I couldn't state what traditions are in place in Israel. But, today, in the US, no one is financially responsible for wedding costs besides the couple. Traditionally, the groom's parents would be responsible for the rehearsal dinner. But, this doesn't include out of town guests. It may, but it often distracts from the point of a rehearsal dinner.

Best wishes,
