     Who gets wedding party gifts

My mother and I are bumping heads about who in the wedding party should get gifts. I thought everyone we've asked to participate in some way should get a gift. My mother thinks that roles like the ushers and singers (who are all relatives) should get just a corsage or boutonnière. Can you please tell me what is typical for gift-giving to the wedding party? Thanks!

Dear Marie,

Typically, gifts are just given to attendants and most treat their ushers the same as the other groomsmen.

But, this is your wedding and you can give gifts to whomever you wish. You would be paying for these.

Best wishes,
