     Who should "give" me away?

I will be married early in 2005. My father is deceased and my brother is performing the ceremony. I am 52 (1st marriage). My uncles are older and have difficulty walking. Is it appropriate for me to walk down the aisle unescorted? Thanks.

Dear Who Gives,

Absolutely! No one needs to 'give' you away. This is one of the many traditions that is slowly giving way--thankfully.

Congratulations on your up-coming wedding!

Thanks Rebecca! I felt that way myself, but didn't want to commit a major faux pas. My dad will be with me in spirit.Smile
