     advice on toast/speech during reception

My Maid of Honor and the Best Man are both very shy and do not want to give a toast/speech during the reception. Is it ok to skip that part and let parents or grandparents give a toast or a speech. I dont want to put them on the spot like that. HELP!!!!

While it's traditional for the best man (and now the maid of honor) to give a short speech its not necessary to follow tradition. Have anyone you want to speak at the wedding...or no one.

Additionally, if your maid of honor and best man feel more comfortable a smaller audience they can always toast you at the rehearsal dinner.
