     disapprove

I totally disapprove of the guy my daughters getting married to. I dont even want to attend but she is my only child and I love her so I will begrudgingly attend. How do I act and what do I say when people want me to speak to them. I dont want to dress up so what should I wear and I dont want to participate in any way or be in any pictures that the groom is in. I cant stand his family and despise his mother.

Dear Ringtail,

As an etiquette specialist, there is no way I can advise you of how to behave impolitely at your daughter's wedding. Hopefully you can find some way to quietly and respectfully attend.

This is your daughter and her choice of husband. He will be family soon. It may be best to try to get to know him and learn why he is her choice.

Best wishes,
