     greeting times...

AT my friends wedding, immediately after the ceremony, they stood by the doors and greeted people that came to the wedding, but then when everyone went to the reception site, it took longer for all of their pictures because it took like 30 minutes to greet people.

Is it rude to disappear after the wedding (to a back rook in the church).. let everyone leave to go to the reception site faster.. then come out and take pictures.. then when we get to the reception...greet people when we arrive to mingle a little while before the festivities begin...

Or should I set up this greeting line right after the wedding b/c some people might not go to the reception... (I am just trying to worry about time b/c I have a 4:00pm wedding..and the reception site closes at 10:00pm and I want a sit down dinner and dancing, ect)

Dear Jamiec,

Many are now taking most of their pictures days before the wedding. So, you could many of your pictures before the event.

A receiving line is optional and can be assembled at either the wedding or reception site, but does give the guests a chance of meeting the entire bridal party and also the couple to thank the guests for attending. It is your choice though.

If assembling at the reception site, the guests can be held outside the reception room with cocktails until you arrive. This is an option as well.

Best wishes,
