My cousin is getting married in june. In the evening they are having a party in a castle. Since this is also a hotel we called them to book a suite. We first made sure to ask the receptionist if the couple in question had already booked a suite themselves and then asked for a suite for ourselves. He informed us that since the bride and groom had booked a suite they found it not appropriate to book a suite for the guests.
I never thought for a moment that this would be inappropriate. Is it me or is this found generally inappropriate (or only in The Netherlands lol)
p.s. My cousin thought it was a joke and had no problem at all with us having a suite too.
I've never heard of such a thing. If the bridal couple has no problem with it, the hotel (castle) surely shouldn't either. Nancy Tucker President of Weddings Beautiful US http://www.weddingsbeautiful.com
Thank you very much for your reply, I must admit that I was a little worried that I was the one being out of order. I guess this is just one of the things why we moved to another country in the first place.
I've worked in hotels at the front desk for years and I've never heard of that. Might be just one of those things that come with different countries rules. Fellow Bride
