hi,

my daugher is getting married, i am a single parent, i dont think her father will be paying for any part of the wedding. the grooms dad may help a bit. the grooms mom recently passed away. do i put the moms name on the invitation, as the late jane doe? or just the dads name?

Dear Invitation Advice,

Wedding invitations announce an enjoyable event. So, we would not mention the name of a person who has passed because that connotes sadness.

You are not required to mention the father of the groom if you do not want to, it is just a very nice gesture whether he is contributing or not. Because you are divorced, you also do not have to mention the bride's father if you are sending out the invitations.

Best wishes,
