     invitation wording  

my grandparents raised me, but my grandmother passed away 3 years ago. how do i word a formal invitaion if my grandfather is having the wedding for me.

do i include my fiance parents on the invitation, they are having the rehearsal dinner party for us.

Hello Rebecca:

I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. I am sure you'll miss having her at youyr wedding. There are many ways you can include a memory of her into the ceremonywhich we have posted in other areas of the site. If you'd like me to describe them to you please let me know.

Your invitation would be worded like this if your grandfather is hosting:

Mr. Grandfather's first and last name

Requests the honour of your presence

at the marriage of his grandaughter

Your Name

to

Groom's Name

then the rest of the invitation information below.

If your inlaws are hosting too (paying for the wedding) then you would include their names on the invitation like this:

Mr. Grandfather's Name

and

Mr. and Mrs. Groom's Parent

Request the honour of your presence

at the marriage of

Bride's Name

and

Groom's Name
