What do you with the mother of the groom that may make a scene at the wedding/reception?

Dear Jitters,

The groom needs to speak to her about her behavior. Perhaps he could remind her how much he loves her and how he would hate to have to exclude her based on her behavior. Other than that, which is extreme, perhaps someone close to her can help keep her calm and quiet.
