What do you call the Mistress of Ceremonies if she is married?

Dear Neuropsychgal,

Actually, I've only heard of a Master of Ceremonies and I'm not a big fan. When someone is announcing everything all through the reception it is as if there is always someone shouting at the guests. Leading them as if they are children attending a school field trip. Of course, that is just my opinion. You really only need to have someone, disk jockey, parent, just about anyone to announce the cake cutting, first dance, (whatever) when that time comes.

If this is something you wish to do, and your announcer is a woman, Madame of Ceremonies seems appropriate.

Best wishes.

Sincerely,

As odd as it may seem, the person is always a Master, whether male or female.
