SmileIf you know that someone cannot attend your wedding, but you would have invited them; should you send them an invitation?

Dear Invitations,

It is entirely up to you. There is no etiquette rule covering this issue. However, if this is someone that you talk to often, tell him that you know that he cannot attend, but wish that he could so he won't feel left out.

Because I didn't want to simply send wedding announcements to some family members, I actually included a handwritten note in a few of my invitations for those family members living in other states. It just seemed as if I was including them in my happy day.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

Sincerely,
Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
