I need help picking out flowers. I do not have a green thumb at all and I am in a rush to get my flowers picked out. My colors are Apple Red and Ivory/white. I know I want calla Lillies to be in my bouquet but I was looking for some way to incorporate red into my bouquet also. Do they have red calla lillies? are there any other kind of flowers that would fit well with the calla lillie? My bridesmaids so far are just carrying a white calla lillie each, is there something else i can do to their bouquets? They are going to be long stem calla lillies and i was wondering if maybe i could give them one red calla lillie and one white one. Does that sound like it would look okay?
Please help me

Re: [futureMrsArthur] August wedding flowers

The red calla lilies are small and very dark. Maybe not right for an August wedding. I think for the girls the addition of a red spray rose (called Scarlet Mimi) and a loop or two of beargrass with lime foilage would get the job done nicely.
For you there are a bunch of ways to go....First of all the small white callas are spectacular and a great start. I would recommend you use them all together in a dense cluster rather than intermixed with red which could look sort of spotty. You could do a beidermeier style bouquet ... that is sort of a concentric circle style. ( you can look it up.) Think of an all white calla bouquet with a circle of small red roses around the edge and loops of grass or soft greenery. That scarlet Mimi rose I mentioned would do great. If roses aren't your thing you could do a dense cluster of small red gerber daisies in the center and ring them with the calla lilies on the outside.
When using red and white in the summer be sure to use lime or a nice fresh soft foilage. No leather leaf or shiny stuff...It's not Christmas we are looking for.
Hope this helps...Apple red is fantastic by the way...Have a beautiful wedding and no worries!!! Sue of Hobart's Fine Florals http://www.hobartsfineflorals.com
