I am getting married June 18, 2006 in a garden. My bridesmaid dresses are burgundy and they are tea length. I'm not sure what color bouquets to get them and me. I was thinking of a combination of lighter colors, but do I add those colors in my bouquet? Or would it be too much to do burgundy lillies for them adn a combo of white roses and burgundy lillies for me?

Burgundy is a great color. You can pull it in a lot of directions. While lilies and white roses are really beautiful they sort of evoke a winter theme to me. Why not work with the spring theme a bit and push out into the rasberry pink shades and just accent with burgundy in the flowers.
Are you aware that peonies are available at that time of year? They are a luscious flower and come in different shades of pink, burgundy and white. Consider mixing a pinkish lily such as the "sorbonne" or "la reve" with burgundy peonies and maybe the white and pink bicolor spray roses"elektra" for your attendants. Then for the bridal bouquet use white peonies with the same other flowers and maybe an addition of a few more details such as stephanotis or freesia. There is a nice ivory rose with a touch of pink on the edges of the petals called "virginia" that would work well in your bouquet as well. Other possibilities you should not overlook are ranuculas, pink wood hyacinth, anemones and stock. All lovley and seasonal beauties.
I generally recommend that the Bride carry a somewhat bleached out version of the theme colors. All colors seem brighter against a white gown. A little color looks just beautiful and appropriately bride like.Happy planning and enjoy your June wedding! Sue of Hobart's Fine Florals http://www.hobartsfineflorals.com
