     Crimson red and deep purple?

My FH and are getting married at the end of April 2008 in an informal ceremony at a state park with a reception to follow in the "grand suite" of a nearby hotel. The colors of the suite are crimson red, gold tones, with dark wood antique furniture. I am making the flower arrangements for decorations and my own bouquet

I was thinking I could purchase red and white roses from our local warehouse store along with some other blooms for color. I'd really like to incorporate a deep purple within some of the color scheme. Do you think purple is a complimentatry color with crimson red? If so are there specific purple colored flowers that bloom in April that I should keep a look out for?

Thank you!

Unsure Hi, You can do the red and purple of course, and they look nice together. I'm wondering if that combination doesn't that seem a bit dark for spring? Also roses are great but maybe you could lighten the look a bit with the use of some tulips, stock, mini green hydrangeas or even lilacs.
Tulips come in great colors, are really easy to work with and are downright cheap in April. If you can get hold of some fresh lilac, usually in bloom that time of year in peoples gardens, you could nest pale yellow, purple, deep pink, red and lavender tulips with a few red roses and get a great look easily.
I mentioned stock because it comes in great deep purple shades as well as light and deep lilac tones and smells great.
Mini Hydrangea is sort of a fresh neutral accent that really pulls in the spring attitude without being too frilly.
Maybe I am rambling a bit but I want you to keep the season and some degree of freshness in the picture. Go get some flowers and play around a bit. You will get to where you want to go.

I like the idea of brightening everything up for a more spring like appeal and was wondering how to do that. The yellow and pinks will certainly help. You have certainly given me some good starting points. Thank you so much!
