Divorced Parents with partners who gets flowers?

My parents are divorced. My father has been living with this wonderful lady for about six years. She has been there for me even when my own mother wouldn't or couldn't be. I love her dearly and would like to give her a mother's corsage too. But the problem is my mother has a live in boyfriend whom I dont get along with. Trust me the feeling is mutual. If I give my dad's girlfriend a corsage will I be obligated to give one to mom's boyfriend too? (If they even come). I'm soo confused. Thanks Stacy

Dear Confused,

No. You only have to give the corsages to those with whom you feel close. Step parents or live in partners are only included when they are considered the same as parents. It is fine to choose one over the other.

Best wishes,
