     Hawaiian wedding flowers

I am having a Hawaiian wedding and need to know about the flowers. I know that for a woman that is single she wears her flower on one side of her hair and when she is no longer single she wears it on the other side but I do not know which side is which. Can you help with this?

Rotle:
I thought this sounded familiar, but I did some research just to make sure. This is a Hawaiian custom. The flower is placed behind your ear on the right side if you are available; the left if you are taken. Removing the flower from the right to left side, is a matter of personal preference, but would have significance only if those in attendance recognize and understand what the gesture means.
Congratulations!

The bride wears the flower on the right side of her head until she is officially married, at which time the flower is moved to the left side of the head. This is a right of passage, much like a graduation/commencement ceremony when the graduation cap tassel is moved from the right side of the cap to the left after receiving owns diploma.

Congratulations on your "graduation"
