The MOB is wearing a wristlet. I am not keen on a corsage or a wristlet and would prefer a small nosegay. Is it appropriate for me to do this when the MOB has a wristlet?

Dear Sea2sea,

Actually, you wouldn't have a choice in this unless asked. It would be a gift from the bride and it would be her choice.

Best wishes,

When I discuss personal flowers with my clients, I always ask them to see which style would be preferred by the MOB or MOG or any other special guest wearing personal flowers. It is up to the bride to make these specifications with the floral designer.

If you have a good relationship with your future daughter-in-law, and the dialogue arises, you could gently suggest your preference. Instances where a lightweight fabric is used, or someone would rather not have their expensive fabric pinned, there are good reasons for choosing one style over another.

I wish you the best of luck!
