Is there any way to preserve delicate flowers, such as lilacs, for use in a bridal bouquet. I know that typically lilacs tend to drrop quickly after they are cut from the bush, but I have my heart set on having lilacs in my bridal bouquet.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank You

Hate to tell you, but if you want to carry fresh lilac you need to get married in season. There is greenhouse grown white lilac available from December until June and lavender from April to early June.
Freeze drying is the best method to preserve lilac but it is quite expensive and you will still have lots of very fragile small pieces. Likely to fall apart and may not be worth the trouble.
If you do choose fresh lilac, use blooms with a good heavy woody stem and keep them in water as much as possible. The wood in the stem is the water source so, the thicker the stem, the slower the wilting factor. Most greenhouse grown lilacs are pretty slow to wilt. (And so worth doing...Lilacs are a phenomenal flower!)
