     Rose Garden Wedding

My fiance and I are getting married on a golf course next fall in their beautiful rose garden. We toured the venue yesterday and found out that the rose garden blooms all year! That is great for us, however has now confused me as to what colors I should use for my wedding. I had originally planned on chocolate brown and a coordinating color(I have not decided on that yet!) The roses are dark pink and red in the rose garden. So now I am confused as to what colors I should use that would look good for a fall wedding, but also compliment the roses in the garden. I am trying to get away from pink, so maybe a color that would look great with pink. I am also not dead set on the chocolate either! Thanks in advance for your help!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! If you could coordinate with the exact colors of the rose garden, that would be fantastic! Imagine just how it is going to look in the photos! I understand you might not like pink, but if it is one of the colors of roses the garden, I would definitely take advantage of it and coordinate with that color. My advice to you: 1) ask the management for the photos of the garden in bloom as a reference point 2) take the pictures to your florist and consult with the florist: it is always great to have a professional advice when it comes to flowers 3) consult with florist if the rose garden will be in full bloom at the time of your wedding (only a professional can answer that for you and if yes 4) coordinate the colors for a smashing effect! Enjoy the wedding!

If you are somewhat concerned about the floral colors, might I suggest something that I use quite often when considering color combinations. Visit your local home-do-it center or paint store where you can pick up an assortment of paint chips. If you want to stick with the same color theme of the roses that will be in bloom, you and your florist can explore different color combinations that would suit your taste and compliment the garden by utilizing these swatches. You can find paint colors to match the roses, and add accent colors to see what might be best appropriate.

Because you are having a fall wedding, the dark pink might bring some interest into the traditional fall harvest colors of red, orange, and yellow. If going this route, it would be appropriate to keep the chocolate brown color in this scheme.

Whatever your choice may be, a garden wedding is wonderful for the fact that you can have a look that is not so organized or suspecting. A garden reception can be very comfortable and casual, so take advantage of your surroundings, and consult with a local floral designer who will be able to help guide you in choosing floral combinations.
