What types of flowers for July wedding?

I am having my wedding July. T bridesmaid dresses are going to be some shade of purple and our centerpieces are going to be mostly silver, red, and orange. My centerpieces are mini fourwheelers so there are a mix of colors. We are having a fourwheeler wedding. What type of flowers are available and appropriate for a july wedding? Any ideas? My ears are wide open. I was thinking about going with silk flowers but I just don't know. I think I like the idea of real flowers but then again it is a July wedding and the real ones could wilt right? What type of flowers are available during July?

SmileUnimpressed Ok...fourwheelers. What exactly does that mean? As in All Terrain Vehicles?

Well anyway ,if that is the case, what is the setting?

Wilt resistant flowers for July would be any sort of daisy pom, carnations(there are great purple ones out now,) sunflowers, yarrow, spray asters (blue butterfly is purple) allium, feverfew, safflower(orange) star of bethlehem, sea holly. Roses are in peak and fine form in July as well and some are pretty wilt resistant depending on variety and stem strength.

Decorating vehicles with silk garlands and such would look really cute and maybe some streaming ribbons. For your bouquets and bouts I would still shoot for fresh flowers just for the scent and naturalness of them.

Let me know if I am completely wrong with my impression as to what a 4 wheeler is. If I am right it sounds like a fun idea and maybe with a bit more info We could really get some ideas together!

By the way, You will be getting married on Bastille Day which is the French Independence day. It is also my sons birthday, which is why I know that!

Take care and write back if you like.Wink

Yes fourwheeler means ATV. My FH and I both have atv's and are going to see if we are able to have them in the reception hall by the head table. Basically right now what we are the centerpieces are going to have atv's in and the topper for the wedding cake will have a atv on, plus I am working on a way for the invitations to deal something with atv's. And lastly the couples who are standing up we are going to try to have them have their atvs in the back of their trucks.

That’s as far as I have gotten so far. We have had a lot of this planned for the last year but now I need to get my butt in gear and mostly my thing right now to worry about is figuring out flowers. I like the idea of roses but sometimes they are too costly. I have never heard of anyone around here having a themed wedding especially a atv wedding

I am looking at more way to incorporate atvs in the wedding but I haven’t gotten any farther at least I still have little over a year

Well, if you're not actually driving them around that makes a big difference. I would probably say get some ribbon and fun signs on the tables like 'finish line 'and 'off road' or whatever terms might be appropriate for the hobby. You probably don't want flowers on the tables but maybe little flags or things.

Have a parade at some point if you can and have trailing ribbons on the handlebars or whatever maybe.

The cost of fresh flowers is actually not any more than it is for silks in most cases. That is if you want a nice quality silk. I would suggest you get fresh flowers for the wedding party. With a funky and fun theme like this you do want to add that little bit of extra class there.

There are sweet silk flower garlands and accents. Maybe some garlands to string the atvs together sort of like a Maypole look with ribbons would be fun.

Just consider the elements of your sport that can be picked up on and run with them. Do be sure all the vehicles that are brought to the wedding are nice and clean and well displayed.

Good luck and have fun!!!!
