colours of bride's bouquet to be different from bridesmaids bouquets

Hi, I am having trouble deciding on how to arrange the colours for our bouquets so that mine differs from my bridesmaids.
I am wearing an ivory dress and my bridesmaids are in really nice pinky/brown coloured dresses (called raisin). As whites and creams go exceptionally well with the girls' dresses I have chosen to use creams and pinks for our posy bouquets. I was thinking along the lines of having their bouquets mostly white/cream and then having mine with more colour, so more pink. I thought the contrast in colour look nice that way.
I've been told that it's usually done the other way around where the bride has a white bouquet and bridesmaids have more colour.
Can you please give me some advice on what I should do. I want us all to look perfect of course, so I would love to know what is going to look better by asking an expert!

Thank you,
Claire

I like your idea. Keep their colors muted and turn it up in your flowers. Its fun and fresh and a bit less traditional. Yes it is usually done the other way but these days with the deep colored attendants gowns your way will look much better. Used to be bridesmaids were all pastel and pale colors so that rule fit but not anymore.
My only suggeation would be to include a few accents or white tones in your bouquet as well...just enough to provide some lightness for the photography.
Trust your first idea, it will be right and look great!

I agree. It doesn't matter how it's usually done in this case - play with color and have fun. It will reflect your own signature or style!
