We are having an informal fall wedding, and I am wondering if you have any suggestions for flowers. I am only having one person stand for me, and she will most likely be wearing black. We aren't having a theme, we are just having a simple wedding with less than 30 people. I'm not big on pastels, either. I don't necessarily want all the flowers to be the same color, but I want them to match. What are some of my options for bouquets, centerpieces, and cake decorations?

Well...I could rattle on all day but what I really want you to figure out is what you would love to have. There are all sorts of great things available and in fall the warm burnished flowers are abundant. Try to go to a big flower place and just look....You will react to what draws you. In some cases it is color, or scent or texture...One Bride just said to me "Gerber daisies are always so happy!" See what solicits a reaction. Figure out what makes you oooh and ahhh. Then get it!!!! This is your wedding day and everything should be special... Philosophy aside some of the peak yummies in fall are gerbers, dahlias, all sorts of mums, spray roses and regular roses, lisianthus, delphinium and baby calla lilies...Hypericum berries, textural greens and seed pods and wheat and cattails also can be great that time of year. I did a cake with flowers, crabapples and tiny bunches of grapes and piled tiny pumpkins and gourds on the table...It was awesome... For centerpieces that can be great too...use a floating candle in a cylinder vase full of cranberries and water and just pile up the fall style decorations around it.. A nice small wedding like yours gives you a chance to be yourself and have some fun....Think about it, dream a little and have a great time with all of this...love and great luck...
