I'm not really sure, it kind of looked like a rose in full bloom, but any very dark purple flower that you know of I would be interested in hearing about! Thanks alot!!!

For large flowers with lots of petals, consider hydrangea, roses, asters, peonies, irises, and the like. These types all offer deep purple colors, some almost black. The peonies are gorgeous and very "classic and old fashioned" looking, with flower heads the size of dessert plates. Some are white with blood red centers, or fuscia colored. For less petals but striking beauty, depending on the location or time of year, you could also consider hibiscus or clematis.
You might want to try going to a florist and looking at their choices. They usually have a catalog for you to choose from. For immediacy and the ability to save the pictures, visit an online nursery that sorts their flowers by color. Many online plant nurseries provide the option of searching by colors, rather than plant species. Using the net to search, you might come across something even better than what you saw years ago!

Baccara Roses and Calla Lilies are a great choice for the colour you are looking for. For a really dramatic effect, how about adding dyed black Grand Prix Roses? These are not strictly 'black', but have a warm, dark, velvety look. Kate of Posy Richmond Petals http://www.prpetals.co.uk

Our Reception will be in late Nov at a country club, so our room will be decorated for X-mas and we really didn't have a theme but the colors I will be using will be Burgundy Roses, Black Baccara Roses and Call Lillies that are very Dark Purple! I would also like to incorporate silver somewhere!! Thank you,
Marisa

Hi ..The all deep red bouquets can be amazing! I have done centerpieces that time of year and incorporated round silver christmas balls. If done well that could be georgeous...Maybe 3 big balls surrounded with open roses, flowers and various evergreen foilage...A little festive and that would not conflict with the site decorations. Maybe tall silver candles or an occassional silver guilded large leaf included...There is a floral spray called "sterling silver" that comes out beautiful. I think if it is a holiday theme take advantage of what is there and go for it. If you want a more natural look ask for silver containers and foilage such as dusty miller and silver eucaluptus ..Silvery filler flowers are leptosperum, caspia and white heather. good luck and take care....Sue Hobart Sue of Hobart's Fine Florals http://www.hobartsfineflorals.com

Hi again...As far as finding those flowers...I'd suggest you find a better florist...Those are both quite popular flowers and shold not be hard to get... Any good wholesaler can special order them for you...You should give 2 weeks notice to make sure they are available...Take care and be happy....
