2nd Marriage No Gift from Brides Parents

This was the 2nd marriage for both of us. We paid for all of the wedding, rehearsal and reception expenses as we should have. My wife's parents attended the wedding and seemed to have very nice time. Her father walked her down the isle and her mother lit some candle thingy dingy prior to the ceremony.

I find it quite odd that they did not give us a congratulatory card or a gift. One of my wife's brothers and his wife did the same thing.

What do you think of this?

Dear TBerens,

Gifts for second weddings are optional and not obligatory.

Best wishes,
