     4th Wedding Gift?

My cousin, who is 42, is getting married for the 4th time. She had the traditional ceremony for the first wedding. The 2nd was at her in-laws home and the 3rd was at JOP. She has decided that she wants a small ceremony this go round. Anyway, she informed my Mom that instead of gifts to tell all of the relatives they would rather receive money. Is it just me,or is asking for gifts, especially money, at a 4th wedding crass? Thanks for any input.Tongue

Expecting gifts for any event is in poor taste but yes, especially since this is her fourth wedding her expectations are even more grotesque. And asking for a particular gift, especially money, is even worse.

Peggy Post says, "Technically, gifts are not obligatory for encore weddings." Perhaps your relative hadsn't read the book! Wink

I completely agree and now feel the extreme need for an antacid.
