Asking for monestary gifts for a wedding

My fiance and I just purchased a home and are paying for our own wedding. When is it appropriate to let our guests know that we are not registering but monitary gifts are welcome?

The only way you can properly let guests know your gift preference is to either list it on a personal wedding site (tatcfully, of course!) and to spread the word through your family.

You should still register for gifts since there may be guests who will still want to purchase a gift. Many people like to select a gift for the couple rather than giving money.
