Asking for money instead of gifts for wedding

I know that it is classed as quite rude to ask for gifts for our wedding, but people keep asking me what present they should get us. We would like to get money to sort out the garden if they want to get us anything, but how can I word it, in the invitations, so it doesn't sound like I am asking for it?

It is not polite to mention anything about gifts in the wedding invitation. Please let your lose friends and family know your gift preference and allow them to tell guests who ask. It's a good idea to register for gifts too.
