Bride and groom separated - guest wants wedding gift back

I just went to a wedding last Friday and the following Tuesday I found out that the bride & groom have separated. How long do I wait before asking for the presentation money that I gave them back?

It wouldn't be polite to ask for you gift back. Give the couple time to return the gifts on their own. I'm sure they have a lot going on right now.

I completely agree. We never give gifts based on whether the couple will stay together. So, you gave, they accepted. Hopefully, once they sort all of this out, they will return all gifts. Perhaps this is just a small blip and they will be back together soon.
