My friend was invited and came to my wedding and gave my husband and I a large sum of money for a gift. He married a few years later and sent me an e-mail with a picture of he and his bride letting us know they had eloped. Should I have sent a gift?

Dear Gift or no,
This is entirely your choice. We give gifts because it is something we want to do. Some people give wedding gifts even if they are not invited to a wedding.
