We are having a small destination wedding with just immediate family. We are not mailing out invitations, but would like to mail out an announcement of our marriage. We've been asked if we've registered for gifts, which as of now, we have not. Do you mail registry cards out with announcements? I don't want it to look like we're expecting a gift, but since people are asking, I'm guessing they want to send something. I personally feel it's tacky...but I'm just not sure. Thanks for your help,
Sharon

Your instincts are correct - you do not send our registry information with wedding announcements or with invitations for that matter.
If someone should ask where you are registered you may tell them. May people will go to the popular registries to check to see whether you're listed. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".

Okay, if my instincts were correct about the registry cards....should couples even register with small weddings like one we've planned?

Sure, it's fine to register and will be helpful to those who want to send a gift. Just know that recieving a wedding announcement does not obligate the recipient to send a gift and you should only mention the registry if asked.
