     Friend married in Hawaii...

A very good friend was recently married in Hawaii. No official wedding ceremony or reception is planned, as far as I know. I would like to send a gift. What is the appropriate dollar amount? Would a bottle of wine be fine? Thanks-

Dear Generous Friend -

Since you're not really obligated to send a gift, there is no expected dollar amount to be spent. Any gift you choose, which comes from the heart, is a wonderful gift.
