Gift Etiquette for Parents of the Bride

Hi, my step-daughter is getting married in a few weeks and her father, mother and I are pretty much footing the bill for the whole event. My question is this, since we are footing the bill for the wedding do we also give a gift to my daughter and future son-in-law and if yes, what is the proper type of gift to give?

Thanks.

Dear Step Parent,

Children really do expect a gift from parents. However, what isn't expected these days is for parents to pay for the wedding. So, it is your choice to give a gift and what it should be. There really is no perfect gift.

Best wishes,
