Gift for Dad and his lovely fiance.

Hi everyone,

My dad recently got engaged and now that the wedding date has been set (and It's soon, 4 months away!) I need to find a gift for him and his fiance. I'm 19 and this isn't my dad's first marriage. What should I get the two of them as a wedding gift? Also, should the gift vary depending on if I get invited into the Bridal Party? I havn't been asked since the announcement of the date but it was discussed in passing when they first got engaged. I may also get my younger sister to pitch in for a combined giftso budget isn't a major issue.

Any help at all would be fantastic!!!

Thanks!

You're very sweet to want to please your dad. I could offer some suggestions, but there is no better gift from a child to her parent than one she comes up with on her own since she knows the couple best. In fact, I would urge you to maybe write a letter on some fancy paper letting your dad know how much he means to you. Perhaps a beautiful frame with a photo of the three of you? Here are some ideas for second wedding gifts.

Enjoy the wedding. I'm sure you'll come up with just the right gift, and, be sure not to over spend. That is the past thing any good parent wants from their child.

I couldn't agree more. And, the gift you choose wouldn't be much different if you were a part of the bridal party, except it is often a group gift contributed by all of the bridesmaids. But, since this is your dad, you'd probably want to give him something personal.
