     Gift or Card?

I am attending a wedding with the groom's son, and I'm not sure if I should buy a gift or a card. We were once dating but (we are not longer) remain friends so I know his family well but have not seen them in a while. I'm not sure if a card would be fine or if a gift would be more appropriate.

If a gift seems more appropriate what do you buy a couple that has been living together for years? [:/]

Dear Guest,

As a guest of a guest, you are not expected to give anything. It would be a nice gesture to send a card before the wedding.

Best wishes,
