Gift required when only invited for "drinks and dancing"?

A close friend's daughter is soon to be married. The ceremony and reception (which will be held at a parent's home) will be very small. Because of this, neighbors are NOT invited to the ceremony or reception...they may come "later" for drinks and dancing. Some of the group of neighbors have met the bride on a very few occasions but none have met the groom. Is anything more than a card to be given under these circumstances?

Dear Catsquared,

You are not obligated to give a gift unless you were invited to the wedding.

Best wishes,
