Gift usage prior to the wedding

Hello,

Our friends threw us an amazing couple's shower/engagement party and we received wonderful gifts which we appreciate. We have opened the gifts and sent thank you cards, however, our wedding is still a few months away. Is it appropriate to use the gifts we received or should I store them untill after the wedding?

Thank you!

It is best to wait until after the wedding to use engagement, shower and wedding gifts since, if the wedding were to be canceled for any reason, the gifts would have to be returned. This doesn't happen often, and I hope it doesn't happen in your case, but it's best to wait and be sure.

Best Wishes,
