My fiance and I are planning a September wedding. Our family doesn't have any money to contribute, so we are on an EXTREMELY tight budget. There isn't any money for gifts for our attendants. Our whole guest list is strickly very close friends and family. I know the gifts are to be a "thank you" for being here and all that, but they wouldn't be offended without some cheap gift to say thanks. I just don't know what to do. Thanks so much.

The gifts don't have to be expensive.
You could choose to make something like a small photo album as a memory of the day.
Consider giving them a gift of your time by making up some "gift certificates" to do some little task you might have experience with that the recipient may not. Perhaps, if you are a good painter and your maid of honor just moved into a new apartment you could give her a certificate for a day of painting.
Write a heartfelt letter outlining the many ways they have been a friend to you over the years as well as during the wedding planning period.
Anything that will let the attendant know that you have appreciated them would be appropriate. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".

I couldn't agree more. So many put an emphasis on purchased gifts, as if these are worth so much more than the moments we spend with those we love. Gifts break, but those moments last forever in our hearts. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
