     Gifts for "wedding weekend" events?

My boyfriend and I will be attending the wedding of close friends, and he is a groomsman in the wedding. We are invited to several "wedding weekend" events, including religious services, luncheon, and dinner the day before the wedding. These events will occur at their place of worship, at the bride's family home, and the home of a neighbor of theirs.

I am wondering if we should get them any gifts in appreciation for being invited to these events as well, in addition to the gifts we intend to give for the wedding itself.

Dear Guest,

No gifts are necessary in this case.

Best wishes,
