     Gifts received before wedding

This has probably been asked before, but I couldn't find a post. I am a bride to be Smile (yeah me) and our wedding is just under 3 months away. We received some boxes of wedding gifts from a friend who lives in another city and I am not sure of the rules on this. Can I open them? If I can, is it okay to send a thank you note before the wedding? I know I am not supposed to use them, but that is all I know about the etiquette.... HELP!!!

Thanks - Chrystie

All gifts should be sent to the home of the bride before the wedding. You should open the gift with your fiance and send a thank you card immediately to let your guest know the gift was received.
