Gifts to groom's parent from bride's parent

Is it customary for the bride's parent to give gifts to the groom's parent? If so, can you suggest what type of gifts would be appropriate. Thank you.

No. In fact, parents play a much smaller role in their children's weddings these days.

Best wishes,
