Giving a group wedding gift

I am in a bridal party as a bridesmaid and the bridal party is getting a group wedding gift. However, my partner is also invited to the wedding. How would his gift work? Normally we would just give cash together as a couple. Would he just give his own gift or would I just put more into the larger gift to cover him? Confused! Unsure
