How many days do I have to send thank you cards??

My wedding reception was September 30th and I have not ordered the Thank You cards yet. I'm planning on doing it this weekend. Have I waited too long? Also should I handwrite personal messages on the inside of each? Pirate Between the move and everything else the thank you cards were my last priority not that I'm ungrateful just busy.

The perfect answer to this question is to send the thank you cards as soon as you receive the gifts. This ensures a less tedious task after the wedding. However, none of us are perfect. The accepted standard is to send the thank you note within three months of receiving the gift, so, it looks like you are within the range. We're all busy. I'm sure your guests were busy too, but, they made time to select a gift and attend your wedding. Please take some time in return to compose a handwritten, personal note to each guest thanking them for sharing the day with you and for (enter the gift here). If it was a monetary gift you do not have to note the exact amount - simply let them know your intention for this gift. (John and I were so happy you could be with us as we exchanged our vows. We will be renovating our new home and your generous gift will sure come in handy. We hope you can come out and enjoy the new digs with us soon!)

If you have many notes to write make sure you get the new hubby involved. Perhaps making a goal of 20 notes per day each until they have been completed.

Enjoy married life!
