I am planning on having a really small intimate wedding with just family at a retreat. However my fiance and I have hundreds of friends and business associates who want to be a part or who we want to be a part of our marriage.
What would be proper etiquette to get every one involved and not miss out on a lot of great wedding gifts?

I'm a bit confused. You want others in your wedding, some how, for the gifts? Interesting.
No one is obligated to give you any gifts. They may want to if they were invited, but they are not. There is no way to invite them to a prewedding party if not invited to the wedding.
If you were hosting a reception, guests still wouldn't be obligated to give a gift.
