How to relay on invitations that presents are not necessary.

My Fiancee and I have been together for 20 years. We have raised a family, 2 children being his from his first marriage and 1 which we have together and who is now 18.

I am doing my own invitations and would like to ask our guests not to bring presents as they are not necessary giving the fact that we have been together so long and that we already have a house with all its furnishings.

How do I express this and can it be put on the wedding invitation?

I appreciate your focus but unfortunately it is not acceptable to make mention of gifts on a wedding invitation.

If you are asked just let people know your feelings about gifts. Let your family and close friends know and ask them to spread the word. But know that people who care for you may want to give a small token of their esteem anyway and you'll probably receive some gifts.

Enjoy...
