I have been dating my boyfried for 6 years. His father and girlfriend, whom we both love and adore, are getting married in Aruba soon. They have invited us, his brothers and their significant others, and quite a few family members. Most have the money to pay for themselves, but they knew it would be tight for their children and significant others, so they have already paid for all of our all inclusive trips. I have been saving for the past year, because I want to get them something incredible! I am so lost for ideas. though. They have a gorgeous house and everything you could ever think they would need (or want).
Personally, I think pictures and sentimental gifts are the best, but I dont want it to come off as cheap or tacky. I can't even count the number of pics of the family that the bride has all over the house. Everytime someone comments, she always says. "I can never get a picture with everyone together"! We thought we would get everyone together a night or 2 before the ceremony and have a group pic taken to be developed (maybe somewhere in Aruba) and put it in a personalized frame, however, the youngest son is expecting his 2nd child with his fiance and will not be able to attend the wedding. I suggested professional pics here, of all the children, grandchildren, and sig. others, but my boyfriend thinks the idea is kind of lame.
Your advice would be appreciated! Danielle

Re: Ideas for Wedding Gift for Father

Dear Danielle,
I really can't advise you on the proper gift, but I can tell you that it should be one that you feel comfortable giving, feel that they would want it, and it should be based on your relationship with the couple. The picture you describe would fit into those categories.
