If giving money as a gift, what is an appropriate but reasonable amount to give?
Friends of ours are getting married, they are in their early thirties, and they will be moving into and taking over the bride's parents house so they have everything they need and have not registered anywhere. However they made the comment that they could always use money that is how they are hoping to pay for their honeymoon cruise. My husband and I and our daughter are all a part of the wedding party and have already bared that expense and don't know what is an appropriate amount of money to give to not be insulting but yet to be reasonable within our budget. I was thinking maybe $50. What should I do? Or I was also thinking maybe a wedding keepsake album along with a smaller denomination of money like $25. Which is better?

Dear If giving money,
Gifts are always optional and should never be expected, so anything you give is fine. Usually a member of the wedding party gives something small and many times will give a joint gift with the others in the party. Your idea of a wedding keepsake album is perfect.
Don't fret too much. You don't have to give money, but if you choose to, give the amount you feel comfortable with giving.
