Is there a tactful way to ask guests in invitation to mail gifts?

I know it is not proper to mention gifts in the invitation, but I'm getting married in my hometown and neither me, my fiance nor my parents reside there. The wedding is in Wisconsin and we reside in Arizona. We are flying in the day before the wedding and flying out the day after. We do not have resources to ship the gifts back to Arizona. Is there a tactful way to ask guests in invitation to mail gifts? We plan to have over 400 guests and word of mouth will not work.

Dear Gift Dilemma, It is proper for the guests to ship, or mail your gifts to you before the wedding, but many people are unaware of this. So...one thing you can do is to register at the well-known stores in the area. When you do, you can stipulate that the gifts will need to be shipped to Arizona. You can add that you are registered at XYZ at the bottom of your invitations. Hope this helps. Sincerely,
