     Keepsake gift for the bride.

I am the maid of honor for a friends wedding that is taking place next summer. This past fall her father took his own life. I want to give her something to represent that her father is with her on her special day. I was thinking of a braclet with his name or some kind of engraving. Is this a good idea?

Dear Kaiyli,

It sounds like a sweet idea, but it could be the one thing that makes her think of the pain of losing him all day. Only you know your friend well enough to know, or guess, what she might be feeling once you give her your gift.

Best wishes,
